After a days delay due to mechanical issues with the original plane that was to take us to SFO, I had to wait a day which luckily wasn't a problem in this case. I got to the airport by mid-morning to make sure I had a few hours to enjoy the Swiss First lounges and check out the Senator Lounge in Terminal E.
Since it was over a 24-hours delay, I had to get my checked bags and re-check them. Luckily Swiss has a fantastic First check-in "hut" separate from the main check-in counters.
A beautifully designed waiting area.
But of course there was no wait and I was checked in quickly and offered an escort to the First Lounge in Terminal A.
On the way I made a stop at Laderach to buy gifts for folks back home.
And got a good laugh at this California display in the terminal.
And to the Swiss First lounge with the private entrance and security.
Security was super brief and I was in the beautiful and still new lounge.
Plenty of reading materials from all over the world.
And dining area where the last time I was here had a fantastic soup, but today I was headed for Terminal E and having breakfast there.
But first an espresso at the bar.
Also a peak at self serve snacks and drinks.
Also work areas that are private if needed.
The smokers lounge.
And a beautiful walkway to the transfer area.
The waiting area for a few minutes for the next car to come transfer me to Terminal E.
Another Mercedes van and sadly not S-Class, but hey not complaining here.
And great plane spotting.
Then upstairs to check-in with the lounge agent and walking past the huge Breitling display.
And through the beautiful doors into the tied for first place lounge.
The wine coolers to the left when you walk in.
And with it being a beautiful day, absolutely stunning lounge where pictures barely capture how fantastic it looks and "feels".
The champagne welcome area.
And the bar.
With several solid spirits, although nothing over the top.
Booth style dining area.
And the more private dining area. The prior week I was here with MrsFlamingo and had a fantastic tasting menu, you can check that out in the post here.
And place setting for this morning.
And breakfast menu.
But first some champagne that was refreshing, yet toasty and crisp on the finish.
It went perfectly with one of the best eggs benedict I've ever had. It was fresh, flavorful and precise.
Swiss precision right there.
And with a fantastic view of arriving flights.
And quickly washing up before deciding to take a detour to check-out the Senator Lounge.
And a peak at the day-rooms that were amazing hotel rooms with a large bed.
And full bathroom, definitely need to use these at some point.
I headed out to check-out the Swiss Senator Lounge in Terminal E, you can check that out in this post.
After getting back from the Senator Lounge, I found a seating area to do some work before my flight since I wanted to just enjoy it and do minimal work on it.
And with such a beautiful day outside, it was tempting to head out there.
So let's check it out.
Lots of heavies ready for the noon-ish departure spree.
And I transferred myself outside to work and enjoy Rivella before the flight.
Hey look a C-Series and Aegean, two of my favorite short haul products!
With a bit more time and still slightly chilly temperatures with the wind, I headed inside to finish work before boarding.
More views.
And some rose Champagne and snacks. The rose was fantastic with strawberry and raspberry nose, strawberry palate, crisp yet an ever so slightly toast.
And with that, it was time to head downstairs to board. The Swiss First Lounge in Terminal E in particular is absolutely stunning with great service, food, ambiance and views.
Being objective, the one chink for me in the Swiss First experience would be to have an escort directly on the plane like La Premiere, but it's not a problem to walk oneself to the flight. It's just being ultra nit-picky amongst the top first class products on the market.
Still I absolutely love Swiss First, it's absolutely my style and can't recommend trying it if you ever get the chance!
