Shanghai for a week

Updated: Aug 10, 2018

I had a week long business trip to Shanghai and decided to tack on a couple extra days over the weekend to stay in the Bund to sight see and eat my way through it. I'd been a couple times before, but never had a chance to do anything besides the business trip aspects.

I was able to score one of the last United 747 flights and decided to pony up a little extra to get seat 1A with the last remnants of United's Polaris First. Overall a good flight with a good crew, plus the excitement of sitting in the nose of a 747 for the first time. Check out the post about the flight.

The business aspect of the week I didn't bother documenting, but the fun weekend part I did, check the post out here.

While in the Bund area, I ended up eating at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon not once, but twice... What can I say, I'm a Joel fan. Check out the first time here.

After a great week-plus, it was time to head home and had an odd booking where I flew Cathay Pacific in business class, had an overnight layover at HKG and United's new Polaris back to SFO.

The flight on CX from Shanghai to Hong Kong segment is here.

The lounge hopping to stay awake is here.

And United's new Polaris product on their 77W is here. That turned out to be a good flight and is a solid business class product! Check the post out here.
