Since we had such a great time at the Restaurant at Hotel Wailea a couple days earlier, we wanted to come back to sample more dishes as our last meal on the island and before we had to return to reality. We arrived earlier than our reservations to get a drink and enjoy the beautiful views.
The amazing panoramic view where you can see everything from the Molokini island/crater to Lanai.
Overlooking the hotel itself.
A beautiful sunset!
I was very excited that we were starting off with the same amuse bites as our first visit with the fresh oyster, kampachi "cigar" and ahi poke. I could just eat these all night long!
We went with a Brandlin cab for our final wine of the trip. Funny thing since we are both former Tesla and still huge fans, we watched the Tesla Semi unveiling over dinner, probably set a new bar for weirdness at a fine dining restaurant - at least we had the sound turned off :)
First up, incredibly fresh tomatoes and burrata, simply perfect.
Then hamachi crudo, also perfect.
Then an interesting barley risotto that was very rich and imitated real risotto with a nice twist. The only feedback is the picked onions weren't needed.
The beautiful last remains of the sunset.
And Elon discussing the performance of the truck.
For our mains, I went with lamb chops, amazing!
MsFlamingo went with roast lobster that was almost done thermidor style and also fantastic.
For dessert we went with souffles, one a macadamia nut version and the other a smores.
Check out that presentation and charring of the marshmallow! Fantastic!
What a wonderful meal again and we are so excited to come back and visit them whenever we are back out that way. Chef Sato is the real deal and is putting out top notch dishes that would be right at home in San Francisco or New York.
If you are in Maui, skip Mama's Fish House which is wildly overrated and not that good, you'll spend less and have a far superior meal at the Restaurant at Hotel Wailea.
