La Premiere Lounge CDG

Updated: Aug 11, 2018

After our wonderful La Premiere flight from LAX, we were met at the door by a La Premiere agent to escort us via car to the lounge.

Air France uses Jaguars now for their ground transportation and heading down the jet bridge allowed for some excellent plane spotting with a A380 right there.

Our driver got us to the lounge quickly

The entrance to my favorite lounge by far I've ever been to.

Quickly whisked through private security and passport control, all handled by our attendant.

We were given a tour of the facilities, everything was gorgeous and so very French.

Nice general lounge area near the dining area.

A side resting and lounge area.

Back in the main lounge area and facing the entrance to the primary entrance from CDG.

The view facing the windows towards the airport terminals.

The bar area is a side room designed after the Plaza Athenee by Alain Ducasse - stunning!

Entry area to the lounge.

Side work area.

Towards the bathrooms, showers and sleeping area.

Relaxing and quiet napping area.

I wasn't able to capture the design of the bathroom pods well on camera, but it was amazing and detailed.

The dining area was setup with tables that offered both self serve items as well as made to order ala-carte options catered from an Alain Ducasse kitchen. More to come about the meal below.

You will always find me with a bottle of water in hand, this was my heaven with several sparking and still water options!

In addition to the water, several self serve, appetizer options.

A large section with selection of cheeses and cured meats.

The best section of all, desserts!

MsFlamingo wanted to take a shower and have a nap until our next flight.

While she went off to do that, I had to sample the amazing food and wine available. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it :)

The wonderful menu with great options.

I had to start with the great Chablis option, was wonderfully crisp and mineral driven.

Baguettes and butter, the French know how to do this better than anyone else.

First course was the asparagus veloutte, it had a cow's milk cheese in the middle and was so pure in flavor, amazing!

Then I wanted to move to the Bordeaux, they had a lovely St Julien I enjoyed a lot with my pasta course and lamb main course.

The coquilletes of jamon and truffle was the best pasta I've had to date anywhere, period. It was made with a comte base, veal demiglace, jamon and chopped truffle. Amazing!

After taking a little break before the main, I was admiring the level of detail they go in LaPremiere, just check out even the cutlery logo!

Another glass of Bordeaux and the brilliant lamb (it's that time of year)! Prepared perfectly pink inside with a great jus and roasted vegetables.

After a good break from the great main, my server insisted I try some cheese before dessert. Despite asking for a small slice of only a single cheese, I was presented with this platter and in true French fashion, all were brilliant!

For dessert I went with a hazelnut pastry from the self serve area along with a glass of Cognac.

My server wasn't having any of it and insisted I try the chocolate tarte...both where fantastic.

I finished enjoying my Cognac and MsFlamingo awoke from her rest to join me as we got ready to be escorted to our flight to Budapest. Sadly the time came too soon to leave this brilliant lounge. The quality of the product and service has set a new bar and I would call it as close to perfection as it gets.

Our attendant found us when it was time to board and escorted us to the car and to our plane to Budapest. I can't wait to be back here on our return trip!

Some great plane spotting on the way to our plane.

Our baby bus A318 for Budapest.

We were escorted onto the plane and were the first passengers.

We were welcomed by the incredibly friendly captain and purser who took great care of us on the flight. MsFlamingo slept and I had a great time getting to check out something really cool.

The Euro-fraud Business Class with a blocked middle seat, at least it was for a short flight.
