Hong Kong briefly

Updated: Jan 15, 2019

We got our bags and took the airport express into the Kowloon station.

We also headed to pickup our high speed train tickets to Shantou for the next morning.

All was smooth and we could head out to our hotel.

A great view of the Hong Kong skyline.

We checked into the Kowloon Hotel, it was fine, but also nothing special. Unfortunately for this night the hotels were super expensive and since we'd be there for such a short amount of time, it was fine.

Decent enough room for a night.

Then we met up with ShF and went to Din Tai Fung. It was fantastic as always.

Then we headed to the Peninsula for a drink and I got side tracked by this Pagani in the hotel lobby.

Great guerilla marketing.

We headed up to the top of the Peninsula to their bar to grab dessert and drinks.

Unfortunately the service really sucked and it took forever. We had a chocolate dessert that was fine, but also overpriced.

We called it a night and the next morning headed to the Kowloon station and the high speed train to Shantou. Check out the trip to Shantou in this post. Below the picture of the train here is my brief stopover in Hong Kong after Shantou.

After arriving from Shantou at the Kowloon station, I had a great view of the Hong Kong skyline again.

This night I got a room at the Langham hotel which was great.

A beautiful lobby.

And nice spacious and elegant room.

I quickly showered after my ride and headed over to Hong Kong Central to dine at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. Check out this post for that meal.

On the way back to the hotel after dinner, passing by a McDonalds, it always gives me a chuckle.

The next morning I had a business meeting and then a business lunch at The Bostonian in the hotel. That was an awesome meal, check out this post.

After lunch I checked out and saw this boutique with pink everything, perfect for MsFlamingo.

Then I headed to my last meeting and finally to try James Suckling's Wine Central. Check this post out.

A great and brief visit to Hong Kong as always with great sites and amazing food. Now it was time to head home via Singapore First Class, check out the next post for that experience.
