Off we go to start our Nordic business trips, first with me tagging along for the first week of MsFlamingo's trip to Gothenburg, before I headed to Amsterdam. Due to a bit of a booking fiasco, we ended up with the best option still available at a reasonable price - Norwegian Premium out of Oakland into Stockholm.
After checking in and clearing security, we headed to the only lounge in the small and dopey terminal.
At least could check out the BA 772 getting ready to head out.
And past the Chili's, tempted to stop and get chicken crispers, haven't had those in 10-years.
Needless to say, this is not an airport you should ever bother getting to sooner than you need to.
I had never actually been to the Escape Lounge and was expecting the worst.
But shockingly, despite being packed, was modern and nice for what it is.
The bar had plenty of seating.
A hot food bar with what actually turned out to be really good food. On the other side out of the picture below, they even had mini cast iron mac-n-cheese as well as polenta with mushroom pots that were really good. Very impressed especially for a contract lounge (as well as Amex Plat/Cent cardholders).
Some seating with about as good plane spotting views as you'll get at OAK.
All said and done, this lounge is one of the better contract lounges and frankly beats most US airline based lounges that aren't Polaris or American Flagship First.
After several false starts, boarding eventually got underway, check out the next post for Norwegian Premium.
