We had a great five days in Barcelona, in fact so much so that this section is divided into a couple sections:
Separate posts - exceptional or Michelin food related posts consisting of Lomo Alto, Dux, Escriba, Passadis del Pep, Xerta and Lasarte
It was a quick 20-minutes taxi ride to our hotel the Yurbban Passage which is right next to the Yurbban Trafalgar. It's right between the Born, Gothic and Eixample districts.

The hotel which opened last July is as hipster as they come and of course spoke to us.
Check-in was great including glasses of cava and a great intro and suggestions for sites to see around the city. The staff was very personable and helpful.
A dining area mainly used for breakfast and wine hour/s.
After checking out the ground floor, we headed up to our room which was very modern, comfortable and spacious for a city hotel room.
We dropped our bags off and headed upstairs to check out the deck with absolutely stunning views.
Then we headed downstairs to check out the spa. I was able to sneak a picture without anyone in it.
We headed to dinner at Teleferic which you can see in the Barcelona Food post. We slept great and the next morning wandered around the old parts of the city.

We stumbled across a salon that MsFlamingo spotted that you had fish pick on your feet, then they would massage them. We did this in the afternoon and somehow I agreed to try it. I can positively say it's not my thing!
We headed into the core part of the Gothic section and checked out the basilica.
Then we headed to the aquarium to check it out.

Rockfish were impressive to see.
Then the big tank with sharks, eels, rays and more.
Multiple swimming together!
Then back upstairs and the view of the yachts in the harbor.
We checked out the penguins.
Then the ray pool where they put on quite a show and had all sorts of varieties.
The aquarium was great and anyone who's into them should check it out. We headed back into the city and the light sprinkle was fine.
Past amazing churches in the middle of neighborhoods.
We stumbled across a shoe store that caught MsFlamingo's eye and I honestly liked it for the vibrant colors.
Back out wandering.
We found a popular square right off the touristy Rambla, but it was fine.
Several cute looking restaurants lining it.
