With an early start to the day, luckily all I had to do was walk across the street from the Sofitel to ATH and had a very fast check-in and cleared security. I headed to check out the Aegean lounge before my flight.
And it was beyond packed, I've never seen a lounge this full before.
A food spread covered in a throng of people.
No seating in the dining area either.
Despite the lounge itself being nice, but far too small, I grabbed a piece of frittata and headed into the main terminal that was nice and not packed. Soon I headed downstairs to my gate to board.
With our flight being at a remote stand, it provided for some fun plane spotting.
For this flight I was in row 2, which at least had a bit more legroom.
And blocked middle seat.
The menu for this morning flight.
I didn't take pictures of the rest of the menu since it was the same as my CDG-ATH flight, but good looking options for breakfast.
We soon pushed back with great views of an A321 next to us.
And off we went.
With great views of Athens as we circled around to head north to ARN.
Mt Olympus with some snow on it.
For breakfast I went with the crepe with pastrami filling. It was perfect to ward off my hangover from my Hytra wine pairing. Super tasty, rich and flavorful. The fruit was fresh and this was exactly what I needed.
Followed by a cappuccino.
After a brief rest, I woke up as we were crossing into Swedish airspace.
And not too far from Gothenburg where MrsFlamingo was for work.
And soon we began our descent into Arlanda.
Frozen lakes below, definitely different weather to Athens lol
And a smooth touchdown and taxi to our gate.
Past the Jumbo Stay hotel.
We arrived at our gate and I went to baggage claim to get my suitcase to re-check with Swiss for my journey home.
All in all, Aegean has a great product with friendly service and good food, I'm definitely a fan and look forward to flying with them again.
