Norwegian ARN-GOT

Updated: Apr 16, 2019

After getting off our Norwegian flight from OAK, we had to clear customs before making our way for our flight to Gothenburg. Unfortunately there was nobody to process non-EU citizens and the long line for customs just stood still for a solid 30-minutes, but felt like hours. Good thing we didn't have a close connection...

Eventually we made it out and into the main part of Terminal 5 and made our way past the shops to the other terminals.

Nice looking shops and good restaurants as well. On this trip I'd transit ARN several times and would be able to check them all out in more detail.

We made it to Terminal 3 and located a Joe & The Juice which would become my airport staple on this trip.

Then a brief wait before boarding our flight to GOT.

Down the colorful jet bridge.

And something I hadn't seen before, but for aft passengers, they would walk across the tarmac to board from the rear.

View of the engine and rear boarding stairs.

Onboard and with the new Boeing interior. Seats in the typical 3-3 config.

Love the new interior, I actually hadn't been on a 737 in a long time.

As we pushed back MsFlamingo and I were chuckling at what appeared to be an orphaned baggage cart and predicted our bags were on it.

A quick and smooth climb out. Shortly after takeoff, the lack of sleep and jetlag had us both napping on this super quick 30 minute flight.

Next thing I knew we were descending into GOT and had a chance to checkout the countryside.

And some awesome cloud formations!

Gothenburg definitely looked a lot greener and more heavily forested than the Stockholm area. Sweden of course suffered fires throughout the summer, but not as dry over here.

Almost like landing in Germany with the heavy forests.

Pulling up to the Goteborg airport!

We were quickly off the plane and to baggage claim where our bags did indeed make it. You definitely know you're in Volvo town with XC40's on the baggage claim!

We exited the airport and got into our car service that was waiting to whisk us to our hotel in the city. Norwegian on such a short hop was just fine, but given we slept for the brief flight have no idea what service was offered.

Next up, time to check Gothenburg out!
