Several people had told us to checkout the Dorsia Hotel and try the restaurant. It's a really fun vibe, almost burlesque in style.
We loved the vibe and change of pace.
A great bar and wine program.
At our table, the menus starting with wines.
The ambiance was great, something to look at everywhere.
We loved the stacked champagne glass tower.
We went with glasses of Krug 166eme, amazingly the price per glass was awesome.
Snacks to start out with olives and homemade potato chips, almost an avocado cream and herbs. A tasty way to kick things off.
We went with fresh oysters, they unfortunately didn't have any Swedish oysters since it's not the season, but some type of French ones that were fresh and creamy.
We split appetizers with the fresh burrata salad that was good, but not out of this world.
I had scallops, langoustine and shrimp in a cucumber and avocado cream. It was good, but once I started eating it, realized I wasn't actually in the mood for crudo - my mistake.
For the mains, MsFlamingo went with the butter fried sole, it was definitely over-salted, but with service being extremely slow, we just decided to deal with it. Definitely a dissapointment.
I went with the crispy sweetbreads which were excellent and well executed. The cream sauce was truly fantastic, but also very heavy and I had to make sure to only have a bit so I didn't make myself sick. Overall really liked the dish.
From our table we could watch the action in the kitchen.
For desserts, MsFlamingo went with deconstructed tarte tatin which was good.
I went with the lighter strawberry mousse that looked funny, but was tasty.
And a glass of Tokaji to go along with it.
Dorsia as a hotel and bar is awesome, the vibe and decor is awesome. Unfortunately the restaurant was just ok. If the other restaurants in Gothenburg weren't so awesome, it'd be fine, but you're better off getting drinks at the bar and eating elsewhere. Between the slow service and good, but not great food (discounting the way over salted sole dish), we wouldn't recommend spending your time if you're visiting when there are truly world class restaurants on the same block.
Still, definitely go have a drink at the bar!
