For dinner I had to return to my new favorite place Borkonyha. The staff recognized me after the fun time we had a few weeks ago and they took over ordering for me.
Things started off with a trout tartare with a quail egg on top, just superbly fresh and tasty.
The next course was an amazing mushroom consomme with a sous vide egg yolk.
It was so rich and flavorful, I've tried to re-create this dish at home and never have been able to.
Then a Mangalitsa pork belly dish, super rich and flavorful.
The weakest dish of the evening was the venison, it was still really good, but not as stunning as the mushroom consomme or pork.
For dessert, had almost a deconstructed cheesecake. It was lighter and really nice.
And of course, had to finish things off with a glass of Unicum Riserva!
Then the staff brought by another digestif, I don't recall the name, but it was potent, almost grappa-esque.
Another absolutely fantastic meal at Borkonyha with amazing food, great wine and an incredibly friendly staff. I can't wait to come back to Budapest and come straight here!
