Dux

I had to create a special post for Dux, a fantastic cocktail bar in the Born district of Barcelona.

MsFlamingo found the place via Yelp and TripAdvisor so after our dinner at Lomo Alto, we walked down to check it out, and boy did we fall in love!

The vibe was great, of course it was incredibly hipster, however it wasn't pretentious and the staff genuinely loved their jobs and putting on a show for their guests.

All sorts of cool and small touches.

They make their own infused gins and flavorings.

I had to start with their gin and tonic with infused lavender, rosemary and thyme - absolutely amazing. MsFlamingo wasn't feeling like having a drink, but they made her the best lemon-tonic that we both did a double take with and were shocked at how good it was.

Later on, I went with a gin and egg white based cocktail that they served up in an egg shell cup.

Quite the presentation and it tasted great as well.

Later in the week on another visit, we started off at a table near the bar.

Of course a gin and tonic to start.

A spot opened at the bar and we moved closer to watch the artistry at work.

And the rosemary gimlet, it was absolutely outstanding. Sometimes these smokey cocktails can be too heavy on the smoke, but everything was balanced perfectly.
